New York (LPD-21) Division
On 7 Novemeber 7 Cadets of the New York (LPD-21) Division, along with Escort Officers Lcdr. Aimetti, and Ensign Garceau, attended the Commissioning Ceremony of the USS NEW YORK (LPD-21) in New York City.Follwing the Ceremony Cadets toured the ship.New York (LPD-21) Division, is planing a trip to visit the USS New York in her home port in Norfolk, VA.
Empire 03-2 Welcomes a new Division
On 15 September 2009 approval was received to establish the Michael Murphy (DDG-112) Division and the Navy League Training ship Bronx Metro.
The new division and Training Ship will be located in the Bronx, at the Henry Hudson J.H.S. 125
The staff is not only rich in US Navy but all military backgrounds. The new Commanding Officer Lt(jg) Aviles, is currently in the process of enrolling the staff and cadets and the first official Drill date will be announced shortly.
New commanding officer for Capodanno (FF-1093) and TS Sturgeon bay (WTGB-109)
On 19 September 2009, CWO 4 Evans will assume command of Capodanno (FF-1093) Division and Navy League Training ship Sturgeon Bay (WTBG-109).
CWO 4 Evans comes to Capodanno (FF-1093) with a great US Navy Background and a long Us Naval Sea Cadet history. Join me in welcoming CWO 4 Evans the best of luck with his new Command.
Three Divisions join the Empire 03-2 Region
As of 1 Jan 09 three divisions are being transferred from Liberty 04-3 Region to the Empire 03-2 Region.
There proximity to the Empire region makes this a logical move making regional functions, inspections etc. easier to manage and maintain.

Long Island Veterans Battalion changes name
New York (LPD-21) Division will be the new name of the formally Long Island Veterans Battalion.
This will give the Division Ship affiliation, while still honoring all veterans plus all that were killed on 11 Sept 2001.

USS Arizona (BB-39) on Memorial Day 2008.
Cadets and Officers from Long Island Veterans Division, and Commanding Officer George Washington (CVN-73) were also in attendance. Cadets from both Divisions were interviewed and were featured in a Newsday newspaper article on 8 Dec 2008.
New Chief Petty Officer In Region 03-2!!

New Commanding Officer for Long Island Veterans Division
On 21 February 2007 Captain Christopher Brennan was relieved by Ensign Peter Federico, as the new Commanding Officer of the Long Island Veterans Division. Best of luck with your new Command Ensign Federico!!
LIBERTY (AGTR-5) Division moves to new homeport
With the size of Liberty (AGTR-5) reaching close to 45 Cadets, they have outgrown their current homeport at U.S Coast Guard Station Fire Island. The relationship with the Coast Guard Station will continue for special training and for any Cadets still wishing to qualify for Communications watch standing. Their new homeport will be located at the Combined Armed Forces Reserve Center , in Amityville, NY.
The Division will be working and training with the Navy, Marine Corps, and the Army.
New Chief Petty Officer In Region 03-2!!
Congratulations to Chief Petty Officer Christopher Hayes from LIBERTY (AGTR-5) on his promotion to Chief. Chief Hayes is the first Cadet to achieve the rate of Chief in Region 03-2. BRAVO-ZULU Chief!!!
Peterson (DD-969) Division is renamed
Peterson (DD-969) has been renamed to Long Island Veterans Division as of April 2006. The new name has been chosen to reflect the drilling location of the Division at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Northport, NY. and for all the help the Division gives the Veterans at the hospital.
First official drill great success!!
The first official drill of the INTREPID (CV 11) /Desron 11 division was held on 18 March 2006. New quarters aboard the Intrepid were cleared and in the process of being outfitted. The first four new cadets were interviewed and enrolled into the division, with other prospective cadets due to report next drill. It's a great start for this new Division!
INTREPID (CV11) / DESRON Division !!
A new Division has joined the Empire 3-2 Region! The first official drill of the newly formed INTREPID (CV11) / DESRON 11 will be held on 18 March 2006 at 0800. The new Division will be drilling on the third weekend of each month aboard the Former USS Intrepid (CV11) located in New York City at the Intrepid Sea and Air museum.

LIBERTY (AGTR-5) Division gets new Commanding Officer
On 7 January 2006, Lcdr. Aimetti was relived by his Executive Officer Lt(jg) Woodward. During the ceremony Lcdr. Aimetti was awarded the Distinguished Service Ribbon. As the Divisions first Commanding Officer, he built the Division to a strength of 40 cadets and scored best in the region for 3 years prior, and third in the Nation for 2004 annual inspection. CWO Woodward was promoted to Lt (jg), a well deserved promotion for all his work with the Division as Executive Officer. Lt(jg) Joy Aimetti will become the new Executive Officer.
New Regional Director
As of 1 Sept 2005 Capt. John Nash has been relieved by Lcdr. A. Aimetti as Regional Director for Empire Region 3-2. Lcdr. Aimetti will be performing collateral duties as Regional Director and Commanding Officer of Liberty (AGTR-5) Division until relieved in January 2006.
